Renew your tractor policy
Renewing is also the one moment you can switch insurers without losing anything — so it is worth ten minutes of comparison.
Renew before it expires — here is why it matters
A tractor whose policy has lapsed is uninsured from the moment it expires, not from the end of some grace period. Drive it on a road in that window and you are personally liable for anything that happens, on top of the fine.
Your No Claim Bonus is on the clock
Every claim-free year builds a discount that belongs to you, not to the insurer. It survives a switch to a different company — but only if the new policy starts within 90 days of the old one expiring. Miss that window and the entire accumulated discount resets to zero.
If the policy has already expired
It can still be restored. Most insurers will ask for a physical inspection of the tractor before issuing cover on a lapsed policy, which usually means a surveyor visit or a set of photographs. Tell us the expiry date when you fill the form and we will arrange it.
What changes at renewal
- The IDV drops. Your tractor is a year older, so the insured value — and the own-damage premium — falls with it.
- Third-party rates can change. They are revised periodically and apply to everyone.
- Add-ons can be added or dropped. Renewal is the moment to add trolley cover, or to drop something you never used.
- You can switch insurer. Nothing is lost, as long as there is no break in cover.
Do not have the policy number handy? The registration number alone is enough to start. Our team can trace the existing policy from it.
